All of our poles comply with the SABS 754:1994 specification, our plants are adaptable and can offer poles treated to most specifications.

 

Pole species

Our poles are manufactured from Eucalyptus (Gum) Trees.

 

Pole origin

Poles and logs are soured from FSC accredited plantations only.

 

Strength

All of our transmission and telephone poles are tested to withstand a fiber stress

of 55mpa. (75mpa if so required ) The average modulus of elasticity is 1,500 to 17,000Mpa.

 

Comparative report between Eucalyptus Grandis / Pinus Svlvestris:

This report was compiled by an independent authority. We trust that this report will nullify

any doubts about the application of Eucalyptus timber for transmission pole purposes.

Toughness (Serviceability)

Poles are used in a wide range of applications from dry dessert conditions to marine jetties, (Some poles are still in service after 80yrs)

Drying

The wood seasons well. Hairline cracks dc appear on the surface of the timber at times. Very few knots. Does not form knot clusters, therefore no weakness due to knots.

Pole Production

Producers uniform poles that are extremely durable and are superior strength in relation to volume in comparison to pine softwood varieties,

Inspection

Our poles are tested to the methods and procedures outlined in the SABS 754:1994.
