The fund a non profit organization that facilitates and manages donor funds for food security and poverty alleviation projects throughout the Southern African Development Community. Our emphasis is on marginalized rural and peri-urban youth, women, and children. The funds are sourced from the international donor community. The funders are Australian, Irish, Japanese, and Russian, organisations, firms, and individuals.
PREAMBLE: ü We, the people of ILIMA, recognise the persistent and
increasing vicious burden of chronic hunger, extreme poverty,
loss of hope, and sense of helplessness prevailing in our
vulnerable rural communities; ü We have come together to mobilise resources
for the facilitation of empowerment and development of
disenfranchised and marginalized rural communities;
ü We commit ourselves to the development of
the poor, the disadvantaged, and the marginalized men, women,
and youth, thereby pledging to harness all human energies
possible as an endeavour towards the realisation of our full
potential.
ü We, through the powers of volition,
dedicate and commit ourselves towards economic empowerment,
social upliftment, cultural advancement, and community
development of the downtrodden members of our society. OBJECTIVES OF THE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FUND: ü The
furtherance of sustainable rural agricultural development to
meet vulnerable rural society’s needs and increase the
well-being and dignity of poverty stricken rural communities; ü The
promotion of effective socially sustainable and
environmentally friendly poverty alleviation projects, and
improvement of food security; ü The
promotion of The promotion of the role of women and youth in
sustainable use of living resources, natural resources, and
prevention of pollution and ecological degradation; ü The
promotion of ecologically sustainable rural development while
promoting justifiable economic and social development for the
marginalized rural communities; ü The
promotion of productive capacity for the poor, the
disadvantaged, and the marginalized communities through
improvement of means to access capital, resources, credit,
land, technology, information, technical assistance, training,
markets, extension, and other agricultural support activities;
ü The
promotion of youth development, through advocacy, economic
empowerment, skills development, capacity building, job
creation, policy enhancement, improving accessibility of
capital and technical resources, and entrepreneurial
development; and

promotion of healthy, physical, emotional, psycho-social,
cognitive, social, and cultural development of children in all
